Elly Howse
Elly Howse is a public health researcher with a decade of experience working across multiple sectors including the higher education, government and non-government sectors. She is a PhD candidate with the Prevention Research Collaboration at the University of Sydney and Senior Research Officer at the Australian Prevention Partnership Centre. Her research looks at chronic disease prevention, with a focus on exploring public opinion and community attitudes about prevention. Elly is particularly interested in the politics of prevention, and what kind of evidence is needed to address the policy inertia around food systems, obesity, active transport, and alcohol. In addition to her research, Elly has taught health promotion, public health advocacy strategies, health policy, and epidemiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students
